The home maintenance guide owners actually follow

A property loses value quietly. A simple seasonal routine — or a maintenance subscription — keeps it healthy for decades.

The home maintenance guide owners actually follow

Most expensive repairs start as cheap ones nobody noticed. A dripping connection becomes a flooded bathroom; a warm socket becomes an electrical fault. Maintenance is not a luxury — it is the difference between owning an asset and owning a problem.

The seasonal minimum

Twice a year, walk the property with a checklist: test fuses and RCDs, look under every sink, check silicone joints, clean ventilation grilles, inspect the roof and gutters after autumn. One hour, twice a year, prevents the majority of emergencies we are called to.

What to leave to professionals

Electrical panels, gas appliances, anything on the roof and anything under pressure. The annual electrical inspection included in our plans exists because electrical faults are the failures that do not warn you first.

Why subscriptions beat emergencies

An emergency call-out is always more expensive than a scheduled visit — in money, in damage and in nerves. A maintenance plan inverts the model: a fixed monthly amount, interventions included, an electrician and a plumber who already know your property.

A maintenance plan can group scheduled checks, response priorities and agreed rates. Current inclusions and pricing should always be confirmed in the service proposal.
